I spent years avoiding the dentist because of my anxiety, and from the moment I walked through the doors, every single person here made me feel safe, understood, and genuinely cared for. At my first cleaning, they intentionally paired me with a hygienist who works with patients who have dental anxiety. I wish I could remember her name because she deserves every bit of recognition. She was patient, compassionate, and never once made me feel embarrassed for being anxious. She explained everything, checked in on me constantly, and made what is usually a terrifying experience feel manageable. I’m convinced she’s an angel walking around on earth. The front office team is just as incredible. Every time I walk in, they greet me like they genuinely know me and are happy to see me. Not in a “here comes the anxious patient again” way—but in a “we’re so glad you came today” kind of way. That small kindness means more than they’ll ever know. And then there’s Dr. Pluid. He is one of the kindest, most understanding healthcare providers I’ve ever met. I’ve canceled appointments because… anxiety… and never once has he made me feel guilty or ashamed.
