My beautiful fur baby Liberty was not eating for a few days, spending her days looking up at the sky, loss of energy, and when I picked her up that fateful morning her stomach felt squishy. My heart dropped in my gut and I called my fiancée to accompany me to the emergency room. I could barely speak when we arrived at the Premier veterinary hospital in Orland. We passed an older gentleman walking to his car and he looked at us and said “good luck” I couldn’t respond but just stared at him walking into the building. I had called ahead and the receptionist said to just come in now so they were expecting us. We were put into a private room and immediately someone came and picked up Liberty to be observed and put on Oxygen. Dr Pearson came into the room with a syringe that contained fluids and blood which he stated was a sample taken after viewing her stomach with an ultrasound. She had Congestive heart failure. The news was not encouraging and there was no quality of life expected. We called my son so he could be there with us to allow us to honor the best gift of unconditional love ❤️ she gave us. She was born in our kitchen 11 years ago along with 5 siblings. She survived cancer about 5 years ago. We still have her Mom and Dad and her sister at home to carry on her memory.
I used to think watching our loved one take their last breathe was something awful but I felt so blessed to show her how much she was loved. We are heartbroken ? and have no regrets how everything happened so fast.
Thank you Dr Pearson for handling our beautiful Liberty with care and concern. Everyone at this location treated us with tremendous empathy and concern.
