The school was a prosperous business that thrived between 1966 and 1979, when the founder, Dr. Mildred Dixon, was taken ill. In 1980, Dr. Dixon closed her school to manage her health. In 1988, she reopened the school with the help of her sister, Mrs. Lily C Perkins Rollins. Your School of Beauty Culture was named after community support. In 1997, the school relocated to the Bronzeville neighborhood of Chicago, where it continues to grow. Your School of Beauty Culture has a long history of beauty education. The program covers all facets of barber and beauty culture. It is the oldest private trade school in cosmetology. Your School is well known in Chicago and national beauty circles. The 80% graduation rate and 90% state board pass rate (within each offered program) are maintained by Your School, illustrating Your School of Beauty Culture's high level of education. Your School of Beauty Culture received approval in November 2015 to offer all cosmetology and is committed to quality.
