Dr. Ashok Kothari, our orthodontist, was granted the Board Certified Orthodontist designation by the American Board of Orthodontics, a title that only about 20% of orthodontists hold. He is also in the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics and the American Association of Orthodontists. For more than 31 years, he has been a Joliet dentist for the orthodontic treatment and has also been a Countryside dentist since 2005. He was a Darien, Illinois, and Romeoville orthodontist before that. Dr. Kothari served as a Clinical Professor of Orthodontics at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry from 2003-2013. He earned a degree in Orthodontics from Bombay University in 1978 following his 1975 graduation from Nair Hospital Dental College of Bombay. At Loyola University School of Dentistry, Chicago, he completed a second two-year residency training in orthodontics. He loves to give back to his community by sharing his expertise with students and colleagues. His points of emphasis in lectures included Interdisciplinary Treatment and the benefits of early orthodontics and adult orthodontics He gave presentations including annual meetings of the AAO, Chicago Midwinter Meeting, the International Orthodontic Congress, the Indian Orthodontic Society, Mexico Academia Mexicana de Ortopedia Maxilar, Orthodontic Society of Thailand, and the Panama Dental Society. Dr. Kothari also had articles published on RME and MPS techniques in the JCO (Journal of Clinical Orthodontics) and on the Yang approach to the Treatment of Ty 1: 4 cases in the WJO (World Journal of Orthodontics).
