Lilly Ventures

Lilly Ventures was founded by Colonel Eli Lilly in 1876. He was a dedicated visionary who sought to develop medicines of the highest quality to help solve the real-world healthcare challenges of the time. He once said to his team, "Take what's here and make it even better." We continue these pursuits, 145 years after Eli Lilly's death, in every part of our operations. It is evident in the people who receive our medicines, including patients, employees, healthcare providers, and communities in which we exist. This spirit has been our primary objective since Colonel Eli Lilly founded his first Indianapolis laboratory, where we have developed nearly 100 new medicines over the 140 years.
