Pepperdine University has awarded me with a Clinical Psychology Doctorate. Pepperdine's APA-accredited Doctoral Program offered a comprehensive clinical psychology curriculum. My dissertation was about positive psychology, a rising field. My doctoral studies involved intensive clinical work with individuals, couples, and groups in various Los Angeles clinics. These include the Los Angeles Union Rescue Mission, the Augustus F. Hawkins Mental Health Center, and the flagship West Los Angeles VA Healthcare Center. My clinical training was influenced by subsequent studies in existential psychology and immersion in psychoanalytic therapy training at The Wright Institute Los Angeles. My present approach was heavily influenced by this experience. Following my doctorate, I concluded a fellowship at the Julian Center in Indianapolis. There, I received extensive training in psychoanalytic therapy, which offers long-term therapy for individuals and groups and focuses on recovery and trauma. I served as an adjunct faculty member in the clinical psychology doctoral program at the University of Indianapolis. My therapy approach integrates humanistic, psychoanalytic, positive psychology, existential, feminist, and systemic frameworks.
