I had started the process without legal representation on the other side of the state and got myself into a mess. I didn't know the terminology or what I was signing . Jamie was able to point out where I went wrong and correct my mistakes. She was also respectful to me and kind to the other party. I know that can be hard in a high-conflict situation. My issue was resolved quickly and efficiently with minimal court time. Thank you Jamie! Feedback 8: Jamie is disorganized and inept. She went into mediation and did not have all the knowledge or understanding of the law as it pertained to pensions. Dozens of times over 9 months I had to resend documents to her that I had already provided. She scheduled my mediation 3 weeks before the judge wanted it completed even with repeated reminders from me and the court dates had been moved multiple times due to her last minute actions (that is partly due to not having a full-time paralegal). Lastly; I had a court date scheduled for July 24. Jamie informed me that Saturday, June 30th, when I had 10 days to get the discovery documents from my husband and she did not have them. I had asked Jamie multiple times to compel my husband to provide those documents, but she was too late. When our trial date was looming she finally asked me to send a request for documents so I asked an experienced attorney to add to our team she also asked which cost me more money in the end. If you are going up against one of the tough lawyers in town, you do not want Jamie. If this is something that can be settled, I think she would be adequate, but not stellar. Feedback 9: For anyone that needs a Family Law Attorney in the Lexington area, Jamie is the Attorney you want working with you! Jamie is intelligent, compassionate, organized, and realistic. She was always available when I needed her and promptly returned my calls and emails. I always felt that she understood my frustration and anxiety about my situation. She made sure I understood the process and that she is ready to help me with any and all of my needs. I cannot thank Jamie enough for her help during this very difficult time in my life.
