Anthony Bean Community Theater

In the year 2000, the Anthony Bean Community Theater was created in response to the increasing need for a performing arts center on the East Bank. The place was a celebration of many different cultural aspects and an acting school for the industry. ABCT is a great way to become involved in the prospering "Hollywood South" or film and acting industry from New Orleans. ABCT is a unique company in the industry. This institution is not a typical theater company, but an acting school that enrolls students throughout the year. This firm welcomes both children and adults to the most diverse variety of classes for people who want a career as actors, theatre managers, or set designers. ABCT is firm in the belief that art changes lives. That is the core mission of ABCT, “Inspire those we service by the magic the arts.” Diversity is the hallmark of ABCT. This firm creates a theater schedule for New Orleans that no other theater produces. Shakespeare, August Wilson, Tennessee Williams, laughter, tears, and song are found at ABCT. Our main focus is developing original works like I’d Rather be Rich and Say Amen. Our kids love to perform in such popular classics as Cats, The Wiz, and High School Musical.
