George Howell Coffee sources and roasts the world's greatest coffees with unparalleled passion and expertise. In 2004, George started roasting coffee again, fifteen years after selling 24 of his "The Coffee Connection Cafes" to Starbucks. He had been roasting coffee for 30 years. Each bean in our signature coffee represents the terroir and craftsmanship of an individual farmer, and the passion and dedication to their craft. We believe that the farmers behind every cup of our coffee share the same passion and dedication to their craft as we do. We travel to the coffee-producing areas and to our suppliers, building our relationships anew. These farms are more and more importantly concerned with environmental sustainability and social responsibility. We are proud to work with them directly. We also believe it is crucial to truly understand and appreciate the cost and careful work underlying a cup of coffee of extraordinary quality, and to show respect, we pay these farms premium prices on green coffees. These prices are far higher than Fair Trade prices for the crops they pick and give them sustainability.
