Componere Gallery of Art & Fashion has been known as an art gallery since 1986.
I am an artist residing in St. Louis, Missouri, who enjoys abstract expressionist painting.
This painting style allows me to combine my diverse experiences. Over almost seven decades, I have flown as an international airline pilot, test pilot in space, aerobatic pilot, racing pilot, and airshow performer. All my life I had dreamed of making art, and now I have fulfilled my ambition.
When I'm not navigating the sky, I immerse myself in my subconscious. Abstract expressionism allows me to experiment with colors, shapes, and textures. It visually communicates abstract ideas and emotions, as the term suggests. A piece of this genre doesn't portray anything physical, such as an object or landscape.
My artwork attracts people as tangible objects and others as intangible abstractions when viewed. Emotions inspired by the colors, shapes, and forms in the image vary among individuals and can be subjective. Their reactions are unique and valid, and there is no wrong way to respond. Art is not inherently meaningful, nor is there a secret to understanding its origin.
My medium of choice is the canvas. I use oil, acrylic, and enamel paints. Palette knives and brushes are utilized to apply layers.
