Families seem torn about the quality of Terra Bella assisted living facilities. One family maintains that the management, staff, and general facility are on point. They were generally handling the crisis well. Most workers seemed engaged and helpful, especially the upper management, who tried to maintain high levels of morale and quality care throughout the community. Another reviewer claimed that staff and families had been duped into a COVID lie they were being tested, or for employees to walk around in uniforms lab jackets but not tested._RUNTIME_Most of them had positive outcomes. Terra Bella residents, at the time of the survey, had not experienced any outbreaks. The facility was clean and the staff were attentive, especially when it came time for caregivers. The review mentioned that the facility was low on PPEs, but constant communication was still the order of the day. But even then, activities still went on, but communal dining was out of the question. The most telling aspect was that families could visit as long as they wanted. This lasted almost eight months. And you could touch and hug your loved ones still visiting indoors and out during COVID. But not all have benefited from the facility. One reviewer says that mismanagement, low funding, and low staffing have left this place in a state of consistently dropping standards. The midpoint is evident, but the lowest is marked with continuous incidents among residents like MRSA, UTIs, and falls. The reviewer claims this speaks to the lack of engagement and inactivity that has plagued the facility, lowering the quality of life in this place. The midpoint shows continuous threads concerning the change in management and their implications, some of which have led to the current predicament. The positivity from management puts many residents at ease, but turnover leads to inconsistent quality of care. And now they have a new director who has removed the ability to discuss anything outside of laundry that is not an official visit. And the facility has less to offer its residents, becoming empty and isolating, and they no longer offer the activities like art that many of the more poorly reviewed mentions. This place can be mixed, but there are better options.
