Unorthodox Studios

Unorthodox Studios, which is located in the VAPA Center (Visual and Performing Arts), is my own studio where I host pop-up exhibits, printmaking workshops, drawing lessons, and many other creative activities. My name is Ms. Meikle, and I am the owner and manager of Unorthodox Studios. I believe that art can be available to everyone and that the art of meditation can be accomplished in a moment. Addiction and extreme neglect overwhelmed my family. On the other hand, my career as an art therapist is a great release and a way of being that I have found and shared with other people. Therapy and art have allowed me to become a functional human. Thus, therapy is the only channel that I can see and learn from my mistakes. The ability to release the past has taken over through art. My background in painting is not my strength, but I like to create printmaking, write poetry, and use photography to build things that need to exist. Coming together with these means has helped me find a place where my value and my voice can thrive even though I could not find them. My abstract and contemporary work is deeply passionate.
