Tonya Barber was on paid retainer for a very serious custody case and not only was she passive, she was mostly unavailable. She also barely gave me any useful advice, information, didn't prep me for the stand, didn't cross examine, didn't do any research on my abusive ex, didn't accept any of my research, etc... she literally said 'lets see what happens'. She also scribbled on a notepad when I did get a chance to meet with her. She was the only one available right after covid. I tried to trust the process as this was the first time ive ever needed a lawyer and this was incredibly important. Look elsewhere if you need actual help. Her secretaries/assistants were excellent and far more helpful. *Update* The unscrupulous Ms. Barber was never expected to work for free as stated in her response. She was simply expected to work. She merely sat there and did nothing. The judge set it aside because I had an acceptable excuse for being late to court. This response being three months late AND inaccurate should show people what you'd be dealing with. I never expected her to work for free. She simply assumed I wouldn't be able to pay her and did nothing essentially pocketing $1500 to Google how to do her job. Retain at your own risk. 8. My fiance was charged wrongfully for a felon with a firearm, and Mr. Webster not only was able to prove he was not guilty, but showed that the officer who arrested him was biased and vindictive. Mr Webster is an amazing lawyer, who only has the best interest for his clients! 14. He answered my text 15.
