Las Vegas Academy of the Arts Performing Arts Center offers highly outstanding arts programs as a magnet school. The school caters to 1,750 students from Clark County in Nevada and has award-winning programs. The facility is located in the Las Vegas Founders District and houses grades 9-12. Students can pursue a conservatory degree in music, theatre or dance at LVA. Available classes are band, vocal music, mariachi, dance, violin, string quartet, photo, mariachi, stage art, keyboard, technical theater, drama, visual design, production video, world jazz studies, and studio art. Students are included in the Clark County School District. Intellectually engaging instruction at LVA prepares students for diverse international careers. LVA has a FIVE-STAR School based on the Nevada School Accountability System and a 100% graduation rate. The school has a comprehensive Advanced Placement program and dual credit and CTE classes. 80% of the student population will be admitted to one college. More than $22 million was given in scholarships last year. Las Vegas Academy of the Arts had several state and national accolades. The White House and Mayor Carolyn Goodman recognized the institution. It also has twelve Grammy Signature School Awards for its excellent music education, along with being a STAR school for the International Network of Performing and Visual Arts Schools. The U.S. Department of Education named LVA an American New High School in 2000. It also received US Blue Ribbon School recognition in 2002, one of 17 schools honored. Magnet Schools of America also named LVA a School of Distinction, and ASN gave it the Outstanding Arts School Award in 2013. The Arts Schools Network (ASN) is the largest national professional organization of arts schools. In 2018, ASN gave LVA Exemplary Status. In 2018-2023, the award will recognize LVA as leading in the arts. Niche.com put Las Vegas Academy at an A grade, ranking it fifth overall.
