Blueground | Furnished Apartments New York

Apartment advertised as 3 bedroom but really a 1 bedroom, carved up. The bathrooms are so small you cant fit in them and water goes everywhere. The mattresses are like they picked them up off a sidewalk. The Apt is 120 degrees and you cant open the windows in 2 of the bedrooms or i would say closets because they have retrofitted window AC units mounted (which don't work). The building is old and run down. Asked to void the agreement because I have a son having heart surgery and want him to be comfortable...there response was that i would have to pay a penalty to leave early! I have stayed with similar companies like furnished quarters and had wonderful experiences. It is virtually impossible to get anyone on the phone. I could go on and on but bottom line is stay away from this company book with anyone else!

Apartment was clean but smells a but funny. The refrigerator had not been closed properly (for who knows how long) so, at first it seemed like it didn’t work. No reply from the company to that inquiry. I suspect that is where the smell came from. There is a peculiar (and very messy) curtain with a zipper that is improperly installed. No hair dryer. I had a number of challenges and the Blueground team is incredibly unresponsive on the app. I booked an apartment specifically because air conditioning was an amenity in the description. I asked twice for instructions because there is a mobile ac unit that needs to vent outside and I suspect that is what that peculiar white curtain thing is for. Their eventual response invited me to purchase and install an air conditioner at my own expense! This is not just poor customer service but dishonest business since the same reply indicated ac was NOT an included amenity, which is not what the listing said. I would have chosen a different apt in a better neighborhood if ac hadn’t been the top priority fir me. I have now been in Vienna over a week in 90 degree weather and sleeping terribly because of the heat. Needless to say, I am not impressed with this company. Anyone considering giving them your business, I suggest you go elsewhere. I wish I’d found reviews that warned me.
