I grew up in Maryland. My journey into coaching began at the age of nine. A coach telephoned my mother and told her, "You have an excellent tennis player in your hand." She urged me to participate in competitions, and as I did, I realized that the mental game affected the outcome. I gained national rank after adopting visualization and other concentration methods (Hayes, Brendan- About Us). I was so interested in the brain, so I earned a B.A. in Psychology at Penn State University. With big dreams, I moved to NEW YORK CITY after receiving my degree. As I wanted to stay in New York, I got a job teaching tennis at the Midtown Tennis Club on Manhattan. My four 6AM group clinics per week made me offer to start a business. With my availability round the clock, I got referrals from alpha males, Israeli soldiers, and celebrities. I had given lessons to a musician, actors, and many others. Before I knew it, my business was attracting a lot of clients. Grueling seven days a week for close to two years coupled with financial strains, I felt drained. The reality was that I was just a tennis player, and I had no future plans. I had little to show in a resume (Hayes, Brendan- About Us). Since I needed a job, I applied for a 9-to-5 job. It was my first real job at age 25, but I hated it. I knew I did not prefer to sit behind a desk and wanted to offer more to humanity. I just didn't know what.
