About this business

For this reason, we have stayed true to nature for the past six decades, believing its healing and reviving properties are possible. We find hope and commitment from these experiences, and we are confident in the coming years. Our ancestors, who continue to give their best, have shown us the path to success. They've taught us the value of working hard to achieve our goals. This belief has led us to prioritize our customers, whose happiness is the first priority. Since 1958, we have aimed to make you happy, and we won't rest until our customers are satisfied. Snow Peak Timeline The company was founded in 1958 by Yukio Yamai (https://snowpeak.com/pages/our-story). Yamai founded the company in Niigata Prefecture, where he grew up. Returning to Japan after World War II, Yamai climbed Mount. Tanigawa, looked at the mountain, and felt relieved. The mountain was rugged and dangerous, but he found solace in its challenge. The mountainside was his place for retrospection and exploration because people let it go freely there. Yamai started to realize the beauty of freedom. Grounded in his lesson from the sky and fresh air, he thus wrote in his journal: Yamai founded a company that is still inspired by Niigata's stunning landscapes and geographical diversity. This location also serves as Snow Peak’s Global Headquarters. The beauty of the mountainside survived the test of time. Yamai wasn't satisfied by the available climbing gears, so he sketched and made them himself. He was a talented artist so he used the best metal artisans from Tsubame-Sanjo(VALUE Camp) to design his creation. Yamai’s inventive hand-made mountaineering lines helped him realize his skills in the mountains, and the industry was introduced to it.
