Since 1995, the Rutherford Funeral Homes and Crematories has been providing services to Central Ohio families from four locations: Powell, Worthington, and Columbus. Rutherford Funeral Homes and Crematories was founded in 1923 by Perry E. and Ruth Rutherford, who were the P.E. Undertaking Co. was located on the corner of Frambes Avenue & North High Street. The funeral home was renamed the P. E. Undertaking Company at 2383 North High Street in 1925. The Rutherford Funeral Home is its current name. It was operated later by William P. Rutherford (son of Perry E. Rutherford). The Corbin Funeral Home was purchased by the Rutherford Family in Worthington, Ohio, in 1961. The Rutherford-Corbin funeral home was formed. It is located at 515 High Street. This location is three blocks from Dublin-Granville Road, State Route 161. Two of the four crematoria are also located in this facility. The Rutherford Funeral Homes continued to expand in 1976 with the purchase of Shroyer Funeral Home. This was the beginning of Rutherford-Shroyer Funeral Home. It is the smallest location of all four, and it can be found in historic Franklinton at 1278 West Broad Street just west of Columbus. Our firm continued its growth in 1996. Rutherford Funeral Home, Powell is our latest location. It's located at 450 West Olentangy Street, Powell Road. Two crematories are also located in this facility to provide greater convenience and service to Central Ohio families. Our firm's many years of service to the Columbus families and Central Ohio families has taught us one thing: trust is the foundation of real service.
