About this business
Since 1995, the Rutherford Funeral Homes and Crematories has been offering Central Ohio families its range of services from four locations: Powell, Worthington, and Columbus.
Rutherford Funeral Homes and Crematories started in 1923 as the P.E. Undertaking Co., founded by Perry E. and Ruth Rutherford and based at the corner of Frambes Avenue & North High Street. P.E. Undertaking Company changed its name in 1925 to 2383 North High Street. The Rutherford Funeral Home is its present name. William P. Rutherford (son of Perry E. Rutherford) later operated it.
The Rutherford Family purchased the Corbin Funeral Home in Worthington, Ohio, in 1961. The Rutherford-Corbin funeral was created. It is located at 515 High Street, three blocks from Dublin-Granville Road, State Route 161. This facility also contains two of the four crematoria.
The Rutherford Funeral Homes succeeded in 1976 when Shroyer Funeral Home was acquired. This was the beginning of Rutherford-Shroyer Funeral Home. It is the facility's smallest location, located at 1278 West Broad Street, just west of Columbus, in historic Franklinton.
Our firm grew in 1996. Rutherford Funeral Home, Powell is our latest location. It is located at 450 West Olentangy Street, Powell Road. Two crematoria are also located in this facility for the convenience of Central Ohio families.
Our many years of service to Columbus families and Central Ohio families have taught us one thing: trust is the foundation of real service. We enable families to choose from a range of options to fulfill their final wishes.
