This law firm was founded by Robert D. Erney in 1986. In 1975, Erney graduated with honors from Ohio Dominican College. He received his law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1984. For two years, he was a judicial clerk in the First Appellate District of Ohio at Cincinnati. He is admitted to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He has served as president of the Central Ohio Association for Justice and is an active member of the Ohio, American, and Columbus Bar Associations and the Ohio Association for Justice and the American Association for Justice. The Columbus Bar Association's Professional Ethics Committee is his responsibility. Additionally, Martindale-Hubbell has rated him the highest ethical and competency rating ("AV PREEMINENT"), and he is an Ohio Super Lawyer. Rob was recently elected to the Columbus Bar Association Board of Governors 2017-2019. Moreover, he is one of the Columbus Bar Association's Trial Advocacy Institute founders. Whether it is trial skills or all-day seminars on product liability, negligence, appellate practice, and product liability, his publications and lectures have been widely shared with various legal associations. Rob's services to the community are notable. Rob is past president of Columbus Rotary, an organization he has served in numerous capacities. During certain periods, Rob served as president of the Parish Council for Holy Spirit Church. Rob has been married to Maureen for over three decades. Maureen is the office manager of the operation, and the couple has five children: Matt, Tim, and Aimee.
