Vance Outdoors

Vance's was established by Richard H. Vance in 1938. It was originally a general store. Richard M. Vance inherited his love for hunting and shooting from his father. Vance and Richard M. Vance launched a grocery store that sold a wide range of goods, including guns and bows, in the early 1950s. In January 1978, they altered the product mix to create Vance's Sporting Goods. Rich and Lana teamed up with Rich's spouse and their sons Todd (and Doug) in the family-run business in its early days, and the family business expanded, with Todd managing the retail division and Doug running the Law Enforcement Division. In 2002, Vance's merged with Buckeye Outdoors, only minutes from Buckeye Lake. Columbus was the last location when Vance's opened a third retail store in Obetz (Ohio) during fall 2014. The new Obetz store, with its 56,000 square feet, includes a State of the Art 24 Lane Shooting Range & Training Centre. Vance Outdoors Columbus and Vance's Law Enforcement are among our six most successful and well-established operations. Vance Outdoors Inc., an Ohio-incorporated company, is the company's name. Richard H. Vance was known as a great friend to his customers. He would listen and talk to his customers. His family has learned that customers are the right Bosses, and Vance taught them multiple ways he could make their customers happy. Vance's is dedicated to enhancing the shopping experience of all our customers. Our group of employees is lucky to have a long-serving team. Some of us have been here for more than 30 years.
