AIA Pittsburgh

AIA Pittsburgh (formerly the Pittsburgh Chapter of American Institute of Architects) was chartered on October 11, 1899, and serves 11 counties in southwestern Pennsylvania. As of October 2021, the chapter has almost 600 members, with offices located in the Ewarts Building in Pittsburgh’s Cultural District. More than 165 years have passed since the establishment of the American Institute of Architects in 1857 by 13 architects. Over 94,000 members belong to the AIA nowadays, and it has more than 200 chapters globally. The institution's headquarters are in Washington, D.C. Throughout its history, the AIA has been assisting architects and has taken significant measures to advance their work. The AIA is the voice for the profession and helps architects become better architects by providing access to its resources, knowledge, and tools.
