The study also noted Pittsburgh as one of the six U.S. cities that made the list of the 100 most liveable cities globally. The truth is, Pittsburgh being America's top city for empty-nesters and job-seeking millennials is unsurprising. With an investment of 1.9 billion dollars in the next three years, the 3608 Forbes Project will bring Oakland into the new age. The Oakland Business Improvement District and InnovatePGH, together with the city and county stakeholders, joined forces two years ago to examine ways of transforming Oakland's main street. They wanted to increase opportunities for small businesses. The UPMC was the most important location. 3608 Forbes Avenue is a 1000 square foot storefront that recently underwent a renovation from a yoga studio. It's also located near many Oakland restaurants and a Chipolte, including Roots Natural Kitchen. Front Studio created the Versace color scheme that gave the building its touch of flavor and established the stage for the future retail development. After the first call, the search began for a firm that would be competent to repurpose the old Yoga studio space into a retail incubator for small business, which has complicated times during the pandemic. ULEADx, which was chosen from a series of applications, would fill this place up with small enterprises, mainly artists, producers and creatives. Their objective was finding local talent, quality products, and creating an exotic interior full of joy.
