Be prepared to pay close to double what they quote you and have the law assistant keep you on the phone longer than needed. I went to them to get a divorce, we already had a custody agreement and everything, this was just filing. I warned them that my ex husband was difficult and even though he said he’d sign the affidavit, he may ignore that and force us to go to court. Because I’m a single mom, I asked them, if he decides to go the difficult route, what is the maximum amount I would need to pay to finally be divorced. They quoted me around $1500. They’ve now charged me $2500 total. I paid $1000 upfront and when I got the first bill post divorce, it was another $1000. I called them and asked why it was so much extra and they said that because we ended up having to go into court, the price went up. I wasn’t happy because the law assistant would keep me on the phone twice as long as necessary, but I just wanted to be done so I said fine but asked if that was the final amount and she told me they still had to close the case which meant I would be charged an extra $100 or $200 the next month and then it would be done. It’s the next month and they charged me an additional $500. When I called to complain, I was told that they specifically said it could cost extra. Extra to me is a couple hundred dollars. This was an extra $1000 on top of what I expected and that was twice that it ended up costing more than they told me it would be. If I had been told the cost up front and agreed to the amount that would’ve been one thing. But if I had known it would be $1000 extra? I would’ve filed on my own. Also don't use your credit card to pay because they auto charge your card without your permission ( its in the fine writing). They handle my case poorly and the communication is abysmal. I had to take papers to the court house that they was supposed to do but I had to because it had to be there by the next day and I was just hearing about. I really don't give review on anything but this one deserves it. If you need a divorce lawyer my advice is to look elsewhere especially if its your first rodeo. I wish I could do zero stars.
