Cafe Keough

Cafe Keough was established by Kevin Keough in 2013's final quarter. The eatery's location on Main Street, sandwiched between Madison and Monroe and the fourth and fifth Presidential streets, is a stone's throw away from the University of Memphis Law School and the Peabody Hotel and occupies a part of the first floor of a residential tower known as "10 South Main." The room at Cafe Keough is a fluctuating 3,000-square-foot endeavor that starts slow, becomes lively, digs into some serious study or work in the late morning, hammers the lunchtime crowd, and then eases back to mete out drinks and tapas at night. As soon as you walk into this eatery, you can tell that the owner, Kevin Keough, created everything from scratch. Everything in here is reminiscent of old Memphis cafes from many years ago. The city itself has several images from Nice, France, Prague in the Czech Republic, and New York City that Kevin used. When you walk in here, you feel the ambience and know that you are somewhere unique. Kevin's stamp is literally on the kitchen floor’s paint and the plaster ceiling. The contractor and the tradesman partnered to extract the secrets from this ancient Commerce Title Building's walls. Tobacco beams creak as the sound of the coffee machine and panini press resonate.
