Learn More Cocaine and Alcohol Awareness Program, Incorporated started on January 15, 1989, as a non-profit, 501(c)(3) program. CAAP, Inc. was initially providing services for substance and alcohol addicts on an individual basis. CAAP, Inc. is situated in the heart of Memphis and serves over 1000 individuals per year with chemical dependence and homelessness, domestic violence, victimization, childhood abuse, self-destructive behavioral disorders, and co-occurring mental disorder problems. CAAP, Inc. specifically serves adults having a history of substance abuse, disabilities, serious mental illness, and a complex psychosocial background. All clients who receive services under the CAAP, Inc. substance abuse and support service programs receive similar treatment. CAAP, Inc. started by targeting abuse cases of substance users from minority members in Memphis/Shelby County. CAAP, Inc. now serves a more extensive base of substance abuse clients. CAAP, Inc. multi-cultural emphasis in its treatment reflects the community diversity and the effects of substance abuse on the clients. Priority For the financially challenged, the program provides effective and compassionate mental and behavioral health treatment.
