Sallie Hughes founded Dogs Rule Day Care in 1997 after quitting her 24-year career in sales and marketing. She wanted to work with dogs, so she started with a playground on Pleasant View Road. Sallie could take care of five to ten dogs daily because she was far away from town, and dog daycares were not as common as they are today. She then bought a van to move the dogs and turned it into a bus for daycare. As her business expanded, so did her demand for help.
