ABOUT   Services Excellence Summary

Founded in 1976 by Pat Stokes, Grace House was a haven for poor women alcoholics. She envisioned a safe place where women alcoholics could recover and receive support from other women with the same problem. These places were rare-especially for the woman who could not afford to pay for her services. Grace House never turned away a woman who could not pay for its services. In the past year, nearly 99% of the women we treated were poor. Over 65% said that they were homeless or had nowhere to go after their treatment. Many of the women who come to us are financially, spiritually, and emotionally bankrupt. Many of our clients can focus on a journey of healing without worrying about how they could pay for it. Grace House provides a comprehensive continuum of long-term residential and outpatient services for women who suffer from a gender-specific, chronic, or co-occurring mental and behavioral disorder. Currently, Grace House serves over 5,600 women. Grace House is licensed by the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. It has been CARF-accredited since 2003.
