Reliable W.H. Wooten, Founder of Wooten Transports, Inc. in 1943 sees the need for a proper transportation company to assist in the delivery of petroleum products. In the following years, the transportation company has expanded its services to several states. It was using its trucks to carry petroleum products, including asphalt and residual fuel oil. In 1963, the company diversified its transport business by adding dry commodities. A Nashville terminal was constructed to service the east and middle Tennessee markets. In 1994, Transport South acquired the refinery petroleum products division, which Wooten transported in Memphis, TN. This enabled the transportation company to specialize in dry bulk, asphalt, and tar product transport. In 1997, the company started dedicated carriage services. The transportation company installed a power unit to offer driver service for goods transported in the middle-south.
