That being said if you want an overpriced file clerk well then this is the place. My divorce was a joke. First of all I remodeled my now ex-wife's house to the sum of 138,000 . I was told I would be awarded half of that back. Well that didn't happen, I saw Kate two times that's it, once when I went for a " free " consultation, which was not free, they charged me 1,000 for I guess putting me in the system. Then come to find out the opposing lawyer was her good friend. Well everything was charged to my account. Phone call, 25.00, email 35.00. Talking to opposing lawyer could range from a couple of hundred dollars to maybe over 1,000. The night before mediation, my ex, her brother, and her lawyers, had a meeting at the Mexican restaurant downtown for two and half hours. That night they filed a statement which said she owes her brother 13,000 for lawyer fees. I already knew she was paying for the lawyer out of her inheritance, but did my lawyer check to see if her brother took money from his account NO, good smoke screen though. Then in mediation Kate, Amanda, and the mediation lawyer, was trying so hard to convince me, she had no money, was broke, no assets. So going to court, I probably wouldn't get anything from her. This is the best part, 20,000 dollars to go to court, and there's a good chance I would not ever get anything from her anyway. Kate nor Amanda never directed me on what to do except hand over 20,000 to go to court. Never suggested anything, nothing. What a sham. The only thing Kate said was " well I think you're being more than fair " So my bill was 13,000 in wasted lawyer fees. I wonder who picked up the tab at the celebration afterward? My opinion DO NOT USE THIS LAW FIRM. Another lawyer in Beaumont Texas, ask me why I didn't get a lien on the house? Lesson learned. Wouldn't let them represent my Dog.
