I hired Armstrong Divorce and Family Law, specifically Reagan Riddle (and her highly capable support team of Taylor Joeckel and Jessica Clark), about 5 months ago to help me resolve extraordinarily frivolous, dishonest, and destructive litigation filed by my former spouse who has repeatedly sued me over the majority of the 6.5 years we’ve been apart. The past 6.5 years have been incredibly challenging for my family and me, primarily as a result of how destructive, taxing and wasteful this litigation has been, and through all of it, the kids are, unfortunately the ones who continue to lose the most. I have used 4 different lawyers over this time period, all of which come from high profile firms and have reputations for being at the top of their profession. The lawyer I used primarily prior to Reagan certainly did a very solid job to help me get the outcomes that I wanted; the other two lawyers were either highly unethical and lacking in integrity or simply incapable (so I respectfully let them go). Even with the successful outcomes I achieved with my primary previous attorney, with my former spouse’s latest foray 5 months ago into chaos and more legal filings (i.e., a modification filing and - not one - but two Temporary Restraining Orders filed over this summer alone), I felt in my gut that it was time for me to make a switch to another attorney (who came highly recommended) for reasons that are too long for this review. I’m glad I trusted my gut on this one: Reagan Riddle is the most talented family lawyer in Dallas-Fort Worth and puts all the other lawyers at the other big firms to shame. Over and over again, Reagan easily handled the issues in my matter and outfoxed the lawyer who has represented my former spouse for years. Reagan quickly understood all of the ins and outs of my case and the issues and obstacles that would need to be worked through. Throughout, she had a strong command of the case and was always fully prepared, detail-oriented and organized. Reagan is a genuine, honest, highly intelligent and authentic human being who operates in a world in which most people do not play by the rules; she uses her strong character, empathy, creativity, solid reputation within the courthouse, extremely high IQ and emotional intelligence to run circles around those who try to win at all costs, even if their tactics cause immense collateral damage to the co parents, kids and others. (Those lawyers who try to fashion themselves as “bulldogs” are child’s play for Reagan and her team). Reagan is guided by getting the best outcome for her clients but, more importantly, as a mother herself, she naturally keeps what’s best for the kids involved front and center. While Reagan certainly let me strategize with her on different approaches (and even agreed with a number of my suggestions), I was more than comfortable when she would say at times, “David, I got this – trust me.” And, at the end of the day, we achieved a relatively quick resolution that put me – and ultimately my family and kids – in a better position than before this most recent litigation popped up. After years of dealing with a family law system that is so incredibly flawed while having to deal with lawyers and others in that world whose ethics and integrity are beyond the pale, I am so grateful for people like Reagan.
