About this business
In 1974, a group of obedience dog trainers founded the Dog Training Club of Dallas County, Inc. The club aims to promote responsible pet ownership as well as canine sports and activities in the community. DTCDC club members and their dogs actively participate in various events located in Duncanville, Cedar Hill, and all around the Dallas Metroplex area. Annually, there are thousands of dogs taken to shelters due to misbehavior, which is considered as something inherent to dogs. At DTCDC, all students learn to guide dogs' instincts to become suitable behavior for human packs and improve good manners that make the dogs responsible pet citizens in the community. This relationship between the dog and owner is maintained throughout every step of the exercises they engage in. The sports club offers a variety of classes and programs to both dog owners and sports enthusiasts. DTCDC has Puppy Training classes for the dogs to learn when they are below 6 months old. Dogs above 6 months can be enrolled in the Beginners classes to familiarize themselves with new environments. For dogs that know the basic commands, DTCDC offers classes from novice to advanced in CGC/tricks. The club also offers nose work, rallies, and other events. These programs offer a chance for the dogs to compete in competitions through the skills they have learned. DTCDC also encourages all levels of AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and Trick Dog tests.
