About the Company Sun City Electric has been a family business for more than half a century. It was founded in 1959 by Jose M. Navarro. Jose M. attended the Coyne Electrical School in Chicago Illinois after his service in the Army. Mr. Navarro, the company's founder, started the company as the 10th licensed electrical contractor in El Paso. In 1968 Mr. Navarro was among the founding contractors of El Paso's Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC). The author of Sun City Electrical Code (1988), Mr. Navarro, was an electrical contractor until his retirement in 1988. In 1988, his son Jose Navarro took over as President of Sun City Electric while Richard Navarro became the Vice-President of the company.
