About GDT Art Studio & Gallery
Based in Fort Worth, TX, Guillermo D. Tapia is a self-taught painter who specializes in portraiture. Tapia's paintings feature a diverse range of content, from American iconography and populism to personal memories, friendships, and experiences. His works critically address popular American culture, with our feelings of the past and peers, questioning what is reality. In this contemporary society, our fears and desires are eternally alive. Objectively, people's memories and their thoughts are more valuable than their physical achievements or possessions. Tapia uses these questions with fractured representations to focus on the paintings' important aspects; people.
