The State of Texas has licensed Benavides Driving School and holds a bond for it. All Benavides Driving School courses have been approved by the Texas Education Agency Department of Public Safety and TCADA. Benavides Driving School opened in 1975. Pedro "Pete" Benavides founded Benavides Driving School, and he owned the school. He began as a single driving instructor. Pete had one classroom instructor and one car for teaching students. He was the best instructor in his field. He taught the basics of driving to a new driver. It was difficult. One thing about Pete is that he never gave up on any student until they achieved their goal, which was to get their driving license. The look on the faces of his students when they pass their written or driving tests was priceless. Benavides Driving School was a family. We are still producing safe, responsible and exceptional drivers over 42 years after we started. Pete believed that anyone could learn how to drive with B.D.S., whether it was through Teen Courses or Adult Courses. Today, we continue to believe this.
