E.F. Sewell established Sewell Pre-Owned Sales by assembling Ford model Ts in his Arlington Hardware Store and selling them. His sons, Woody and Carl Sr. Sewell, became partners in the father's second business when they bought the Odessa Ford House and immediately parted with half their inventory. The Odessa Cadillac Store was purchased by Sewell when new car production stopped in all countries after World War II, leaving service and used car sales as the only revenue source. It eventually became the sole Cadillac dealer in the Permian Basin. Sewell has announced four improved areas where it will serve West Texans and bought the Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Store in Andrews. Sewell now serves West Texans with 11 automotive models.
