I used Jenny for a complicated land transaction last year. They were super helpful, answered all questions, communicated properly and got the deal done. All Virginia deals go to them! I am writing this review regarding the Law Office of Jenny Colon's handling of the sale of my grandfather's house, and the experience was exceptionally disappointing and unprofessional from start to finish. Having purchased, refinanced, and sold homes and land, I have never encountered a more difficult, confusing, or poorly managed process. The only positive aspects were the politeness of the Executive Legal Assistant on the phone and the firm's efficient facilitation of a power of attorney for an out-of-state family member. However, the numerous issues created immense stress and delay: We were initially quoted a 10-day timeline for closing but the process ultimately dragged on for three months. This was due to the firm's complete lack of standard procedures. Instead of providing all closing requirements upfront, the information was repeatedly disseminated piecemeal, causing constant delays. The procedures and document requests we were given were completely illogical and non-standard. In fact, when we consulted with multiple realtors, notaries, county officials, and other attorneys, none had ever heard of the specific protocols the firm insisted upon. When I requested that the Executive Legal Assistant consult with the attorney to address my serious concerns about a particularly odd and confusing request, my questions went completely unanswered. We were also not informed about critical document submission timelines or associated fees. The firm demonstrated a serious lack of competence regarding necessary documentation, which left us feeling like we had been misled. They insisted on the notarization of certain documents, explicitly stating they would be held in their office. We later discovered they had filed these documents with the courts, directly contradicting their own instructions. The sheer difficulty and confusion created by this firm's practices were unnecessary and unacceptable. Based on my experience, I strongly advise others to seek legal counsel elsewhere. My family and I were very displeased with Jenny Colon. The process took longer than expected and the professionalism was doown the drain. We’re actually looking into getting representation because of the way we were treated as well as contacting the bar. So many unfavorable things happened during this process it was unbelievable. There was even a charge on the closing statement we paid that was never discussed with us. I recommend not going anywhere near them. They are absolutely awful! They stayed on this closing the whole time they helped me out a lot, even though they got tired of me calling, but they were very informational about everything that I was going through The staff made me feel so much more comfortable with the sale of my home. They were kind, quick to respond, and very understanding of my situation. I truly appreciated their assistance. The absolute best!! Last minute changed my check into a wire transfer. Even without that grand gesture the entire staff was pleasantly professional and their attention to detail was impeccable! Magical .... Five stars isn't enough . My experience was amazing with this law firm. We had a home sell and from the day we contacted them to the day we closed went so smoothly. All the girls are so knowledgeable and very quick to respond with answers. Totally enjoyed doing business with them and would definitely recommend!! The staff at Jenny Colon law is outstanding. Their communication was great and everything was performed in an extremely professional manner. Cudos! I am in the preliminary stages of working with this firm regarding a very complex matter; they have already exceeded my expectations. Their professionalism and follow-up to concerns are excellent!
