I put it off until the anger and exhaustion finally became too heavy to carry. When I first called, no one was available. I left a voicemail with my contact information and then sat in my car, gripping the steering wheel until the noise in my head quieted. On impulse, I decided to drive to the firm anyway. At that point, I had nothing left to lose. Worst case, I'd be told to come back later. Before I even made it to the building, Kaitlyn called me back.
