Warren Smiley was the founder of SMILEY'S Mobile Glass Shop in 1963. He was dedicated to providing excellent automotive glass replacement to his clients. Mr. Smiley's dedication was not the only thing that set him apart. He also had a brilliant idea. Instead of requiring a client to bring their car into the shop, why not perform auto glass replacements at their home or business? At the time, there were no mobile glass installations. Remember, the modern conveniences we take for granted today were not even imagined in 1960. This concept birthed an entire industry. To the best of my knowledge, Mr. Smiley installed auto glass on a mobile basis for the first time! SMILEY'S Glass dominated the second half of the 20th Century. Mr. Smiley's family, including his wife, children, and siblings, was involved in the firm. Sandra Smiley Carrique took over after Mr. Smiley retired in 2007. She was an auto glass professional with many years of experience. SMILEY'S Glass is still a family business. Vehicle owners must feel secure that the company or person they select to work on their car is qualified and experienced. Sandra took measures that can be verified to ensure the safety of SMILEYS customers. In 2009, SMILEY'S became one of Virginia’s first auto glass companies to use the Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standards for the windshield installed.
