You have to have an excellent attorney in a criminal accusation/charge. I pepper sprayed a man when he and his husband backed me into a dark corner of a 16-story building rooftop. I previously tried to get a restraining order against him. King County/Municipal did not submit my electronic evidence to the judge for the restraining order therefore no evidence, no restraining order and no protection. Although the police probably have been to their apartments over 200 times or more, in the last 10 years; and he had been arrested a few months prior for beating up his husband. I was the one arrested and charged with assault. I did not understand how they were not in jail (long criminal history), and I am a resident of Seattle for 40 years without any incidents ever. I was the one in this broken dysfunctional system and why this just did not go away immediately was inexplainable to me. King County and Municipal Courts are train wrecks, basically it is a teaching ground for UW and SU Law School playing with your life, your livelihood and your business. Do not trust this system!!!! The prosecutor changed maybe every couple of months. Every time the prosecutor changed, Greg Schwesinger would have to start all over again explaining everything (if the prosecutor was available and not on vacation). Greg Schwesinger had incredible patience with me through this process. I was in a state of panic. Although I saved my life by pepper spraying the felon, I did not know how I was going to support myself without my business due to the assault criminal charge. If you or anyone are ever in this system you will need a Super Lawyer like Greg Schwesinger. The assault charge was ultimately dismissed for proof. Getting to dismissal is an enormous amount of work and time. Getting arrested I found that the criminal courts are not about justice, it's about having the best attorney.
