Where is Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home & Cemetery located?
Evergreen Washelli has done nothing but add to my family's grief during the hardest time in our lives. They charge you for their incompetency, they are very prompt at going after the money but not at all prompt when it comes to answering calls or resolving problems. They will cause you great grief and think a simple “I'm sorry” will make it all better for you. Let me tell you why this is such a horrible company;
My father in law bought a pre-paid plan for his and his wife's final needs. He spent thousands of dollars on this plan and was led to believe he had purchased everything needed and that all his kids would have to do is make a phone call and Evergreen Washelli would come in like a super hero and take care of everything during their time of grief. That of course was his whole goal in buying this plan!
My Mother in law passed away so we had to make that phone call. Instead of everything being taken care of like it should have been we were told that #1 he still had to pay almost $4,000 for the cremation! He had the urn, he had the plot of land, he had a headstone, but he did not have the actual cremation in his plan. Some pre-paid plan! Then, as if that wasn't enough, he was told he would need an additional $650 to engrave the headstone. Of course that was just for my mother in law. He would need to double all of that in order to actually have a complete pre-paid plan for himself too.
One would think that was the end but it's not. On top of having to come up with an additional $8,000 + to cover both his and his wife's final needs (after already spending thousands on what they presented as a pre-paid plan) Evergreen Washelli botched the job of applying for the death certificates – part of their “services” that you pay dearly for. They misspelled the name on the application for the death certificate so now we have to wait up to 10 months for the correct death certificate! All we got in return for the money spent and their mistake was, once again, “I'm sorry”.
They did not keep us up to date on what was going on at all. Instead, we had to make call after call asking when the cremation would happen - almost a month after death – and when we could pick her up. Your “personal funeral director” is never in the office when you call and only returns calls relating to when you'll be paying them their money, all other calls get pushed off on other employees to return.
My father in law in 90 years old. He did not need to have to deal with all of this! The whole point in buying a pre-paid plan is so you don't have to face all of this during the hardest time of your life. Coming up with this kind of money at his age, and in a moments notice, it impossible. But hey, Evergreen Washelli is “sorry”.
