Comments from Customers: Ray Pollari and Retta Kerwood were amazing. They were outstanding with how they managed my divorce case in Tacoma, WA. They kept me updated throughout the process and answered any questions, concerns, and confusions that I may have had. It took 3 attempts to get my ex-wife to sign the papers correctly since she is in another State which made the process longer, but that was just my ex-wife making the process difficult either on purpose out of spite or from careless ignorance on her part to signing the papers correctly. It would have taken longer if she refused to sign the papers at all which would have resulted in us going to trial at a later date much later, but Ray and Retta helped me send the papers a third time which my ex-wife finally signed everything correctly. I owe no alimony or anything else to her since we haven’t been married that long and have no shared assets and have no children together which resulted in the divorce to become uncontested. Thank you Ray Pollari and Retta Kerwood for all your hard work and getting me through this hard process. Rachel has been a pleasure to work with. She has been highly communicative and truly committed to her clients. She has very good and transparent experience and is honest and open about every step of the process from the consultation to the conclusion. Ray is such a hard-working lawyer who truly cares about his clients. He will go an extra mile beyond to make sure her clients are well taken care of. I will always recommend her! Rachel was absolutely wonderful in helping answer all my questions. She was clear and concise with her answers and I highly recommend her for an attorney. I truly enjoyed working with Matthew Campbell. He was kind, responsive, and professional. He transformed a process that can often feel impersonal into one where I felt seen and heard. Very satisfied with Zoey Salsbury and Michelle Carter, who both handled my case with exceptional expertise, promptness, and professionalism. They had all my inquiries and concerns addressed very fast, much faster than any other legal team I've ever been in contact with. Highly recommended. My name is Kelsi O. Search me that way. If you suppress this review again, I will print it out & serve it to the public that way. DO NOT hire Brian Litzinger. He seriously mishandled my case, didn't do the work I hired him for, yet charged tens of thousands. He added issues & did nothing to progress the case. My case is not complicated. Litzinger is incompetent or vulturous, or both. His accounting took unauthorized money, he invoiced for other clients, & charged on top while keeping the case stagnant, preventing me from retaining capable counsel while lying about completing a single document. He made my situation worse & continues invoicing when he should be returning my money. Instead, I'll have to fight him for what he's taken without providing services outlined in our agreement. This review was briefly posted, where the firm responded saying they wanted to make things right, then when I responded, my review vanished. Look on Yelp for more reviews. Don't trust the abundance of positive reviews. I thought these indicated the service I'd receive, & as it turns out, honest reviews aren't being posted. Below was my original response: He had multiple opportunities to do the right thing & chose not to. I addressed these issues directly & he refused accountability. Your response only lures readers into viewing you as proactive. If this were genuine, I wouldn't be writing this. You don't care to do right by me, you just want others to think you care. If you can't identify me, this must be rampant in your firm. It's been truly horrible & I wish there'd been a review to caution me. If he's confused about which former client I am, maybe he should start a list of wrongs to right. Devastating Consequences: Mr. Litzinger was hired to get my case to adequate cause hearing. Despite billing tens of thousands & claiming to work 3 months, he never filed paperwork & never got us to the hearing. He admitted he didn't know where the paperwork was because his paralegal went on leave; while invoicing me for work he obviously wasn't doing. Every draft required extensive corrections from me. He filed a frivolous motion using my entire retainer. The judge rejected it within minutes. At the hearing via Zoom, he spoke less than 10 minutes, failed to ask for clarifying language on the DVPO, & went against the timeline I'd signed off on. His 3 months of inaction, plus 3 months for a new attorney, gave the abusive party 6 months. My child had more unrestricted access to the abusive party; the situation he was hired to prevent. My child has since suffered abuse requiring police & child welfare involvement; which may have been prevented with a competent attorney, of which Mr. Litzinger proved he wasn't. Before hiring him, I won multiple motions myself & provided hundreds of documents proving escalating violence. I'm now over a year into a case that should be resolved. Financial Predation: As a disabled single mother who suffered extreme abuse, I had limited resources. He took what little I had & forced me to take loans accruing interest faster than I can pay. I'm $25k in debt for services he failed to provide. He mentioned taking his children to Disney yearly, while bankrupting a disabled abuse survivor & her vulnerable child. RPC Violations: Mr. Litzinger violated Competence, Diligence (paid tens of thousands, admitted not knowing where paperwork was, filed nothing while my child remained in danger), Communication, Meritorious Claims, Candor to Tribunal, Fees (charged for work not performed, billed for other clients), Safekeeping Property (unauthorized withdrawals), & Duties to Former Clients (refusing to return unearned funds). Bank Dispute: Rather than returning funds he took without earning, he spent months fighting my bank with dozens of documents to keep the money, yet couldn't complete the one action he was hired for. He did nothing he was hired to do while what he did constitutes malpractice. He continues harassing me with invoices while refusing to return funds. This guy profited off my vulnerability while causing measurable harm to us. Rachel was kind, patient, and considerate. For a total of zero dollars, Rachel talked to me about my legal position and let me know that she would be ready in the event we needed to move forward. I am grateful for Rachel. While I hope I don’t need to utilize her services, I will certainly do so if necessary. I called on a weekend and set an appointment to talk to an attorney at 8 AM Monday. At 8:15, I had to call them, and give them all of the same information they requested when I first called. I waited another 10 minutes for them to tell me that no attorneys were available. I took time off from work for this appointment. I know it's a free consultation, but I do need someone who will at least try to respect my time. I do not recommend this business. Make sure your bank card doesn't stay of file.i was charged 3000 dollars, that was not authorized, Î reported it to my bank because, i thought it was fraud.they did not want to represent my daughter anymore so I'm out of a total of 8,000.with Nothing to show for it at all. My email to Brian that has been ignored: Dear Mr. Litzinger, I am writing to formalize my concerns regarding the services provided by your firm (Modern Family Law, Washington State Firm), specifically those performed by Donica Ramsey during her employment under your supervision. When I engaged Modern Family Law, I did not request a specific attorney. I called for representation and was assigned Ms.Ramsey. The scope of work agreed upon was strictly to revise my contempt case. It was not a general review of my entire file. Donica did not perform the services for which I employed your firm. Most of her limited work involved a single, hour-and-a-half phone call during which false promises were made. It took nearly three weeks for her to initiate any substantive communication after being hired. Furthermore, the administrative errors were significant. She placed the wrong individual’s name on her withdrawal notice, which demonstrates a concerning level of carelessness. On July 10, 2025, you sent a text stating, "It is still in progress. I apologize. Donica is no longer with the firm, which has caused additional issues that require my attention. I am still looking into this in connection with her departure." This shows that my experience is not isolated and that issues with Donica while under your supervision were a firm-wide concern. My $4,500 payment was processed, but the contracted service was not provided. Your firm owes me a refund for unearned fees. I have asked for an itemized invoice detailing all services completed for the $4,500 paid, and I have yet to receive it. I request that you provide an immediate, itemized invoice for every second your firm spent working on my case. This situation is unethical and must be handled appropriately and resolved properly. I plan to address situations like this publicly once my case is settled. I established two non-profits. I am organizing groups and putting together a documentary to raise awareness about the corruption many families, including myself, have encountered within the family law system. People need to be held accountable. Please take the necessary steps to resolve this matter properly. I'm hoping you'll handle this situation appropriately and resolve it ethically. I hope you'll do what's right and resolve this matter properly. Always with Respect and Kind Regards, JJ Very informative and she made it easy to understand possible avenues for me at this time. I am retired. Limited income. I had an emergency credit card that I used to hire Jordan Mororri. He totally billed it to the max. 12,000 later he did nothing for me. I blocked the card , and they are still trying to Bill me. Don't trust this law firm at all. What is worse, I hired them to help my son, still disabled. Totally feel taken advantage of. I would not recommend this firm. I recently stopped services with them. They overcharge and lack knowledge about other counties, yet they will charge you for services without investigating whether they apply to that county. Called on a Friday morning. Rachel answered my call & was very easy to talk to. She is very approachable. Knowledgeable & answered my questions & gave me helpful advice.
