Iris earned her doctorate from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2010. She also has a law license from Washington State (#PY60639248). A bilingual psychologist fluent in Korean and English, Iris works from a psychodynamic orientation. This promotes personal empowerment within the context of understanding one's internal and external environments through introspective dialogues in psychotherapy. It is multifaceted, where people are viewed through a social justice aspect and cultural identities' concept. Her trauma-focused practice has treated individuals suffering from complex trauma, including sexual violence, political persecution, grief, or abuse, as well as others with depression, anxiety, and grief. Iris has also helped people with transition and adaptation issues and self and identity concerns in her practice. Iris is currently a therapist at the University of Washington Counseling Center. Her work also includes coaching individuals through a range of life and well-being issues, including difficulty focusing and being attentive, implementing self-care practices, assertiveness, communication, and work-life balance problems. You can also schedule therapy or teletherapy via video chat.
