Washington Academy of Languages

The Mission of the academy is to promote cross-cultural understanding and mutual respect. This is achieved by providing language instruction and teacher training. Non-native speakers of English can enroll in the Intensive English Program in order to improve their English language proficiency and succeed in college-level courses or other activities requiring mastery of English. The Academy also offers graduate TESOL certificate programs so that graduates can teach English or other languages. Our new TESOL certificate programs may be eligible for University Credit through City University of Seattle. WAL (Washington Academy of Languages) was established in Seattle in 2012 to meet the educational needs of international students. CityU is a non-profit university located in Seattle, where WAL has been teaching languages since 2016. CityU improves lives by delivering quality education worldwide. For almost 40 years, CityU has been providing quality and relevant higher education. WAL is excited to be a part of the mission of CityU.
