We trusted Shawn Murphy to guide and protect us through a deeply personal and complex custody matter. What we received instead was silence, passivity, and a complete lack of advocacy when it mattered most. We raised our concerns early. We asked for strategy. We asked for a Guardian ad Litem to ensure fairness in advance. We were told “no, you don’t want to do that.” When the opposing party launched a campaign of shame-based filings, distortions, and unfounded allegations, and strategically got a GAL assigned, there was no defense mounted—no preparation, no coaching, no warning. Just: “Well… did you do it?” Worse still, Mr. Murphy stood by while I was removed from my home—twice—and ultimately jailed over a deceptive technicality buried in a temporary protection order. No one was in harm’s way. It was a manipulative tactic, set up by the other party and the GAL, and our attorney said nothing. No objection. No guidance. No support. We weren’t just clients—we were a family in crisis. And I, as a longtime stepmother who had raised this child for years, was told not to contact the office. Despite being central to the case, I was silenced and sidelined. This wasn’t representation. It was abandonment. Because of this failure to act, we were left exposed to legal abuse and coercive tactics that have left lasting emotional harm—especially to a child who deserved better from the system and the people hired to protect him. If you're looking for an advocate, keep looking. You deserve someone who will actually show up. 3. Michael Thorner is an extremely kind and respectful man! He has an incredible gift for explaining complex and complicated issues. He takes the time to explain all sides of an issue and the possible outcomes of different actions. This morning's meeting with Michael was not at all what I was expecting. However, I came away feeling like I had hope, and excellent advice, in how I could handle my crisis. I now have a clear path ahead of me, and I am certain it will work out for everyone concerned. 4. Very rude staff will hang up,in your face don't use them. 5. They couldn't help me not their area of law. Have worked with Wes gano in the past though and he is a great attorney who helped me a ton. Would highly recommend working with him. 6. Excellent! The knowledge helped us tremendously on making the best decision. 7. Always a great place to stop in to eat. I do miss being able to go in 24 hours a day, but with things as they are, it is understandable that I can't for now. The food is decently priced and will prepared. The staff is always friendly and prompt. The food tastes great. The pies are worth the trip by themselves. Getting in and out can be a little tough during busy traffic, but normally very easy. 8. New location is better. Competent solicitors and staff. 9. Top notch legal firm for Eastern Washington. 10. Very knowledgeable. Were a life saver. 11. 1st time I used this office I couldn't ask for a better experience. The second time has been just awful. I will not ever use this office again.
