Badger Gymnastics Academy was established in 1976 and has a rich history. Jessie Carlson, the BGA owner, grew up in the gym. Joel Alberti, Jessie's father and first Program Director at Badger Gymnastics Academy, is now part-owner. Joel helped bring the youth gymnastics classes, and his syllabus is used for today's "Tumbleweeds." The current coach for BGA's competitive team is Tom Nikl. Tom has been with BGA since the beginning. Tom was a part of the founding staff at BGA and has loved coaching for us. Badger Gymnastics Academy offers classes for all age and skill levels. Classes range from toddlers to adults and beginner to team level classes. Both locations have full gym equipment, an observation area, a pro shop, and a team that USA Gymnastics sanctions. Badger Gymnastics Academy was founded to provide proper gymnastics training for Madison residents so that the community can develop a love for the sport. BGA is an accepting and enjoyable place where people of all ages and abilities can learn gymnastics.

Overall, the gym received overwhelmingly positive reviews. Many parents are happy with their children's progress and sense of joy. They say the teachers are friendly and supportive. Some even write about how much more comfortable their child felt here than at other local gyms. For this reason, many families want to continue using this gym. They also appreciate how the gym is owned by a family. While most reviewers do not discuss COVID-19, the few who do say the gym is clean and safe. Although no one is completely satisfied, the vast majority of reviews are excellent.
