The Zaleski Law Firm, founded by Attorney Steven Zaleski (a lifelong Wisconsinite, has been practicing law since 1993) who operates offices in Madison (with a full-time paralegal and part-time clerk) and Janesville (with timeshare access to a conference room). Presently, his practice is limited to bankruptcy and debt relief matters, criminal defense (including appeals), and personal injury matters (including appeals). Attorney Zaleski has conducted approximately 20 jury trials in state court and 10 in federal court. He has been lead counsel on over 100 appeals filed with the Wisconsin Court of Appeals and he has argued before the Wisconsin Supreme Court on five separate occasions. He represents clients in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Wisconsin. Attorney Zaleski has also argued federal appellate cases before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans. This office also extends to cases involving the most serious criminal matters, including first degree intentional homicide at both the trial and appellate levels. Attorney Zaleski has been certified by the Wisconsin State Public Defender to handle these criminal cases based on his experience. Two of the five cases before the Wisconsin Supreme Court were first-degree intentional homicide cases. Attorney Zaleski is a member of the Wisconsin State Bar Association in good standing and receives client referrals through the State Bar’s Lawyer Referral and Information Service. Most of the clients are referred to him by past clients or other lawyers.
