Halifax Early Childhood School

Established in 1959, Halifax Early Childhood School was started by a group of parents interested in providing their children with high-quality preschool programs. HECS is Halifax's most established pre-school. Halifax Early Childhood School (Non-Profit Organization) is committed to creating a safe and nurturing learning environment for children. HECS is governed by a Coordinator Director. All children and parents at HECS can be engaged in the community. Twice a year, parent-teacher conferences are held to discuss individual students' development. The Annual General Meeting takes place in September, while the Parent Committee meets two times a year. Every Friday, the family receives the HECS Highlights, including anecdotes, snapshots, and lyrics. We are situated in a licensed setting. We are within the Early Childhood Development Services organization and Early Years Branch from the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. Our teachers have either an Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor of Education certificate.
