I was very optimistic with this firm for 2 years. Paid quite a bit of money over that time. Then the lawyer suddenly dropped me as a client 2 weeks before I was to go to court. I understand things do happen in people's personal life, but you think after paying thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars ($450/hr over 2 plus years adds up) that maybe someone in the firm would try to do something or anything at all for me. Nope. Most I got was an email with copy/paste message of other random lawyers (some being 100's of km away). I was shocked, confused and worried. I asked what do I even do now with court being so close, I was just told I needed to release the lawyer or the lawyer would do ....whatever....with the courts against me or something. I had NO idea what to do, that's why I hired and paid for a lawyer. I had to get a new lawyer immediately, give a $5,000 retainer and that basically went all to the new lawyer going over everything that I had already paid for. The retainer was gone before going to court and it cost me a few more grand on top of that. 2 years paying, dropped me 2 weeks before. New lawyer was unprepared and I got screwed. SN law couldn't have cared less.
