Welcome to The Prow Gallery. You can browse our contemporary Canadian original art online, or drop by our gallery at Bishop's Landing on the beautiful Halifax Waterfront. Halifax is located in Mi'kma'ki, Mi'kmaqs' traditional ancestral lands. Our Prow Gallery, located in Halifax's North End, is the sister gallery to 14 Bells Fine Art Gallery. Our larger space provides our curation team with more room to show original and quality art to a vibrant, growing city. We're still committed to helping working Canadian artists. Kim Aerts was born in Halifax Nova Scotia. His parents, both artists, raised him. European immigrants instilled in him a love for ancient civilization. He began drawing and painting at a young age; his talent for drawing and painting as a teenager was obvious. Eleanor Kish taught him oil painting techniques and landscape basics. He graduated from Mount Allison University with a BFA in the late 1980s. He traveled through Europe and the Northwest Territories before returning to Nova Scotia. There, he married his wife and founded a design firm in the early 1990s. He helped run the company and worked on sculpture.
